In the truest sense of situational irony, New Mexico House District 51 Republican Candidate spent Pride Month bullying the LGBTQIA community. John Block is openly gay. He lives in Alamogordo with his boyfriend, Karl P. Melton. In this deleted post from 2021, Block celebrated his 4th anniversary by painting his exposed wood back porch white with Karl.
Unfortunately for the LGTBQIA+ community, a community that John belongs to, Block is no ally. On Jul. 29, 2022, John posted this about the "Alphabet Mafia:"
On that same day, Block posted the profile picture of an individual with whom he disagrees. Adding further insult, Block stated, "The gender confused XYZs have descended upon my page."
The comments to this post are disgusting. Many responding to this post referred to Ms. McLaughlin as "It" or claimed she had a "mental disease. You can view them all here*, but we did screenshot a small response sample. 
*UPDATE John Block has locked his campaign Facebook page John4NM. Presumably, he has been busy deleting posts again.
